Thriving Oak Massage and Health Education
Greetings, Sonoma County and visitors!
Se Habla Español. Fala-se Português.
My name is Matthew Bronson and I welcome you to my massage practice and studio at Thriving Oak. If you are ready for next-level bodywork, I am here to serve you. My clients routinely report breakthroughs in their overall health and well-being. Check out what people have been saying in my testimonials. One client called me a “massage artist” -and I wear that title proudly. Every client and session is unique, as we improvise a dance of healing together.
My mother studied massage at Esalen and taught me the love of the craft at a very early age, starting in 1967. I have shared this love of massage with others throughout my life, on an informal level, while I worked in universities as a professor and scholar in linguistics, literacy and education. In addition to the languages of the tongue, I now practice the languages of touch.
After a long career in higher education and research, I am manifesting a vision to create a retreat space, a sanctuary for people who are reinventing themselves in personal inquiry and growth through mythology, arts, movement and language. To support this dream, I decided to take my love of embodiment to the next level and become a CMT and Health Educator. Massage and bodywork, practiced with presence and care, are a direct way for me to bring my clients to integration of body, mind and spirit.
My 800-hour CMT program at NHI introduced me to more modalities which I integrate to suit your special needs: deep tissue, Shiatsu, Swedish, myofascial, joint mobilization, hot stone, sports massage, pnf stretching, lymphatic, and Thai massage. My foundation in Shiatsu and deep tissue serves as the root for my practice, and I incorporate other modalities (trigger point, energy work) spontaneously to create a unique experience just for you. I am passionate, driven, and strong, and I utilize my mother’s intuition and nurturing to create a satisfying, healing and relaxing experience for all my clients.
A free-spirited and whimsical soul, I love supporting my LGBTQ+ Community and am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. My practice is informed by my work in Shaiva Tantra, which teaches that we are all One! I look forward to serving the diverse community of West County and our esteemed visitors in the area.

Services
Based on a thorough intake, I will recommend a treatment plan designed to meet your individual goals. I will integrate: myofascial therapy, deep tissue, trigger point, Swedish, Shiatsu, gentle rocking and shaking, stretching, and energy modalities. Working as a team, we will loosen the tight places, activate the sleepy parts and awaken your innate life energy and capacity to heal. As follow up, I will recommend exercises and self-care routines to reduce the risk of re-injury and speed your recovery.
